I was there on the College of Natural Resource's European Seminar. "Beautiful, haunting place" doesn't even begin to describe it. I think my fondest memory was ascending Eldfell and stooping to feel the radiant heat from the earth on my way down. Thanks for the post!!

I loved it. I hav bin on Eldfjell two ore three times. Did you try to digg a hovle and putt newspapper down in it? It starts to burn. So much funn:D I moved in 1996.... And i have only bin back ther one time. But i LOVE Heimaey.
