While I can see why people would want to call it the opening, in my opinion it's much better suited for a preview. I love your animations, they're very beautiful and much, much better than anything I could do. xD

This wouldn't make a good opening because if it was an opening it would probably have to show all of the characters at 0:15 for that mini transformation scene. I do like this a lot more than the real ending though.

"Magic Jewel" makes sense. I think it's a blend of "mahou" (magic) and "houseki" (jewel). Very clever.
