This is the NBC version of the Gong Show in early 1977. This features probably the television debut of a future comic legend in Pee Wee Herman (Paul Reubens). Panelists are Jaye P. Morgan, Arte Johnson, and LA Dodger Steve Garvey
Chuck Barris is such a nut. They said he was high when he did the show which he denied. They also said he was secret agent for the CIA. I don't believe he ever confirm or denied the alligations! One thing for sure he was a genius. He invented the Newlywed as well as many other game shows.
There once was a kid that did the perfect Chuck Barris impersonation. As I recall, he started as an act but became a regular. Does anyone remember that or know where to find it (them, as in a series actually)?
