This goshawk dropped down on an adult rabbit and tried to fly away with it. At the same time an owl flew in and the goshawk dropped the rabbit and took over feeding on the rabbit. (See owl versus rabbit). When the owl was encouraged to leave, the goshawk returned to feed.
The goshawk was first to catch and kill the rabbit but within seconds the owl swooped down and chased off the gos to take over the carcas. The owl then decapitated the rabbit. After I encouraged the owl to leave, the goshawk, in a nearby tree returned to the rabbit and tried to fly away again but only went about 40 feet before dropping the rabbit in a new location in a clearing. The gos proceeded to eviserate the rabbit, making it lighter, then eventually flew away then the rest of the animal.
