First test of my beat detection and LED controller circuit. Made of PIC16F887, electret microphone and active filters. This prototype simply cycles through a few colors on detection of a beat. The next version will include a more robust detection algorithm and color sequencer--with fading and other effects. This design will be able to control hundreds of low power LEDs (20ma) or tens of high power LEDs (350ma and up), with the ability to link multiple units together to control thousands of LEDs.
