Every Child Counts is a school for special needs students from the islands of Abaco in the Bahamas. It is the only such school in Abaco, as special education services do not exist in government schools. ECC students range in age from 3 to 21 with a full time program and offer free testing for any student. The students include children with severe disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism and Downs syndrome, students with learning disabilities and students who have failed consistently over a number of years in the regular school system. ECC provides education to the underserved children of the area and is critical in improving the quality of their life and that of the community. Every Child Counts relies upon volunteers and donations for funding, as most of the families cannot afford tuition and it receives no government funding. ECC also promotes career planning, business awareness and independence. www.everychildcountsabaco.org
