The Doctor Who Theme (Guitar Rock Version)

My guitar rendition of the Doctor Who theme.

As a musician who's also a Doctor Who fan it was only a matter of time until I had a bash at that amazing theme tune. I decided to approach it as if a full rock band was playing it, so basically it's guitars ahoy.

I've attempted to pay tribute to the many wonderful versions of the theme throughout the years with little musical 'nods' to the versions by Delia Derbyshire, Peter Howell, Dominic Glynn, Keff McCulloch, Murray Gold etc. There's also plenty of Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd/Hendrix influence in there - it ended up sounding very 70's to me. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Production:
I played all the instruments (drums, bass, several million guitars) live and recorded & mixed it in my home studio (aka. garage).

Video:
The video is a mash-up of all the different Doctor Who title sequences over the years. Originally I was just going to film myself playing the lead guitar part, but I think this is way more fun to watch.

Now this isn't me trolling (at least not intentionally trying to) but why didn't you use the original bass line? it's a simple rythm of 1-2-3 changing slightly at the fourth interval, and then afterward 1-2-3-4 changing back to 1-2-3 at the fourth interval, How little sense does this make? but other than that it's great :P
