Imagine if a white yobbo, grotty and unwashed, wearing only footy shorts, were to stand on top of that waterfall, after putting down what's left of his six-pack of beer, and do his version of the Tarzan yodell. The animals may or may not think it was Tarzan. The animal herds would all turn around and start running away from the direction of the waterfall. The chimpanzee would cover its ears and start jumping up and down. The leopard would hide in a bush and put its front paws over its ears.
@Nunsweepit421 you are so right my friend, keep hold of that collection, because in years to come they will be so hard to come by, they will make your grandchildren so proud and quite well off financially,,, take care and get to work on that time machine,,,give me a shout when you complete it, l will be your first customer,,rob
@robharding1957 A great list you got there and I love all of them. I own a lot, and I mean a lot, of 60's and 70's classic TV shows that are now thankfully on DVD. I just wish this Ron Ely Tarzan series could be on DVD. Is it all still in tact I wonder or maybe a lot of the 1966 Tarzan series is missing from the vaults. Thank goodness for youTube where we can watch these golden nuggets. I never watch TV today,.....there is nothing for me.
This brings back memories!! Never saw it on its first run but the 1980 re-runs in Singapore n I got hooked on the Tv series prompting me to catch up on all of the movies from Johnny Weissmuller to Mike Henry and books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I've been collecting all Tarzan movie releases and am puzzled why the delay in releasing the Ron Ely series on dvds. I'd buy two sets immediately!
@theironclads that view of yours is so like mine---l could have wrote it, my wife is a sucker for all that glitzy cop stuff csi an the rest of that modern garbage,,she thinks lm stuck in a time warp,,but lve already told her lm watching my stuff because the so called modern special effects tv is so overdone its laughable,,and l aint for budging,,[moving] here in the uk, regards rob,,
@robharding1957 Your listing of those TV shows(The Green Hornet,The Wild,Wild,West,Laredo,T.H.E.Cat,The High Chaparral to name a few more terrific series)illustrates what tremendous variety we had then in the 60s.We have so little of it nowadays.I can already see by this fall's TV schedule what we're getting.More police shows, lawyer shows, medical shows, sitcoms,& reality shows. It's the same exact fare we get every fall from the networks & cable. I watch less & less TV as the years pass.
in the 60s, shows like this made tv so exciting,we had the lot,sci fi,,cowboy shows , man from uncle, time tunnel, land of the giants,my all time top ten would be 1 lost in space,2 star trek,3 mr ed , my favourite martian-- fireball xl5,thunderbirds,, stingray, bonanza,,rifleman, whiplash, rawhide, man from uncle, the saint, tarzan, oops think that may be a few too many,,the point lm making is there were so many great shows back then
