"If It Kills Me" Episode 6 - Awkward [NBB]

Episode 6 "Awkward."
Allie went and got another chair from inside of the kitchen. The seating was like this; on one side were the kids: David then Allie, Nat, and Alex on the end. On the other side were the adults; Polly, Michael, and Laura. After dinner, the parents started talking, so the kids went up to Allie's room so that they could go on the roof. Nat was pretty much quiet the whole time. The first ones that had to go were the Wolff's. An hour later, David went home.
Laura: so you're going out with David now?
Allie: yep. *smiled.*
Laura: I thought you liked Nat.
Allie: *hesitated.* I did, but things have changed.
Laura: oh. Well, get up to bed, you have school tomorrow.
Allie: ughh, okay,
Laura: *laughed* kids.
The next morning Allie got up, took a shower, brushed her teeth, blah blah blah, the daily routine. When she walked outside, to her surprise, David was standing outside of her house.
Allie: hey. I didn't know you were going to be out here.
David: well, I thought we'd do this every morning.
Allie: alright, sounds like a plan.
David: okay then, let's go to school.
When they got to school, they walked their separate ways. When Allie walked to her first period class, science, she noticed Nat was in there, in the seat next to her seat. She just sat down and didn't say anything.
Nat: well..trying to avoid me hasn't worked, has it? *chuckled*
Allie: *no repsonse.*
Nat: come on, aren't you gonna ask me why I'm in here?
Allie: okay Nat, *sarcastic* why are you here?!
Nat: jeez, I moved up in science. See I'm smart.
Allie: ha-ha you're so smart Nat! *sarcastic again.*
Nat: god! Why are you so mad at me?!
Allie: what do you mean why? You know perfectly well why I am mad at you.
Nat: whatever.
Just then, the teacher walked in.
Teacher: okay class, today we are assigning lab partners. Ms. Smith with Mr. White, Ms. Davis with Mr. Wright, Ms. DiMeco with Mr. Wolff..
And the teacher went on. When he said that she had to work with Nat, Allie's jaw dropped. Nat just looked at her and smiled.
Allie: why are you smiling at me like that? This doesn't mean anything I hope you know!
While Allie was yelling all of this, Nat just sat there and nodded at everything she said, he knew she couldn't stay mad at him forever. The assignment was to plant, take care of, and observe three different plants in three different habitats. Each pair got assigned a different type of plant.

At lunch.
Allie sat with Tor, Dave, and some of her other friends. Nat came over and sat next to her.
Nat: hey lab partner!
Allie: what?!
Nat: I just wanted to say hi.
Allie: why are you acting as if nothing happened?!
Nat: because you know we don't stay in fights long!
Allie: but Nat, you really hurt me this time!
Nat: can we just talk about it?
Allie: no Nat! I want YOU out of MY life! Just go please!
Nat was shocked to hear those words. They echoed back and forth in his head, "I want you out of my life!" as he ran out of the lunch room in tears and Allie didn't care. She just turned around and continued eating. Tor kept rubbing her back for comfort because she knew, even though Allie wasn't showing it, that she was upset.

After school at the band meeting.
David: where's Nat?
Alex: I don't know, maybe he stayed after school or something.
Thomas: someone try calling him.
Qaasim: I will I guess.
Qaasim tried calling Nat, but he didn't answer.
Qaasim: nothing.
Alex: did anybody see him after lunch? Because I didn't.
David: I saw him after lunch, but he was only at his locker grabbing his book bag and iPod. Looked like he was going home.
Alex: that's weird. Allie, you've been quiet.
Allie: didn't see him after lunch.
Alex: maybe dad knows.
Alex went to go find his dad. David was whispering to Allie.
David: do you think it has anything to do with lunch?
Allie: I don't know.
She sounded really carefree and like she didn't want to be there.
David: what wrong with you? he's your best friend.
Allie: not after what happened. I meant what I said today.
David: no you didn't.
Alex walked back in.
Alex: my dad said he went to stay at my mom's house for the week.
David: why?
Alex: I don't know, he didn't say.
Thomas: what now?
Alex: I guess this meeting is postponed until Nat gets back.
Qaasim: okay man, later.
Alex: bye.
Thomas: I got to go too man, homework.
Alex: alright bye.
David: bye Alex. Uh Allie, do you want me to walk you home.
Allie: oh, no thanks, I think I might stop at Tor's anyways.
David: okay, bye.
He kissed her on the cheek and left.
Allie: bye Alex.
Alex: seeya als.
