In 1995, Scientology raided the homes of three critics who had been discussing Scientology's upper level materials on the newsgroup alt.religion.scientology. Dennis Erlich, Arnie Lerma and Bob Penny each had their homes invaded. This video shows what happened when Scientology used the courts to try to silence Dennis Erlich.

  • how can a church be in charge of seizing the man's private belongings? this video makes me furious at the cop and the fact he got so taken advantage of....i hope he sued the police and the private investigator...who can verify what was "turned over to the court"? arghhhh

  • decent police forces don't allow "moonlighting"...what a corrupt joke

  • why did he let them in his house with no police? police should be only ones able to serve warrant unless this city is topsy turvy. thats ridiculous he let joe blows into his house.

  • If those mf'ers step a foot in my house I'd knock them the f out

  • Scientology is like watching an X-Files episode.

  • @VoodooPolitico Glendale's got some crooked cops, that's for certain. The citizens have dealt with their shady actions for decades, and it hasn't improved what so ever.

  • A Warrant? My understanding on the service of a warrant is that it must be served by an officer of the court - in most cases; a police officer or police detective. If these people are just with the church then they have no authority to serve the warrant nor even be inside his home!!

  • This issue is simple, scientology is a business that makes a fortune selling it`s secrets and does not want them given away, thus proving it is not a church but a pyramid financial scam, and a tax free one at that, even hubbard said starting a church was a great way to make money.

  • OK-WATCHING FURTHER- This guy says that in 1979 he was held against his will and forced to do labor against his will because of a joke he made about the cult. Now, just how much of it was agaisnt his will. Did he not refuse to do the labor and refuse to allow himself to be held out of fear of being kicked out of the cult? Or was he really in fear for his life and just went along with their actions against him?
