This is a sad day for those of us who grew up on The Golden Girls.

Estelle (Sophia Petrillo) Getty died today.
July 25, 1923 - July 22, 2008

7 Seasons of laughter. The laughter will continue.

@2011Poppa This was the best I could come up with at the moment. Forgive me for not having the professional equipment at the time to make a more "original" tribute. Goodness I had just found out about her death. But mind you I have better equipment now and a better camera. I plan on spending 100 million dollars making my tribute to Betty White. I will have an all star cast that will give moving speeches about her, along with song and dance.

We lost third Golden Girl, Rue. its sad all 3 died, one is still standing. we will missed them. I watched Golden Girl for few years. now times are changing. RIP Getty, Bea and Rue.

I agree with you - we miss Estelle and Bea a lot. I believe each time we turn on the TV for reruns and DVD's from the show, their spirits will be right next to us, helping us keep our smiles on!
