I love Best Friends and abhor animal neglect and abuse. I also have to say that most reputable labs which use animals treat them well since no rational scientist wants his/her results skewed by stress in the animals.
Research dogs, cats and bunnies are petted and played with to keep them as happy as possible. That is why the dogs are friendly, just not trained.
Yes, some of the testing might seem cruel, but so are the diseases scientists are trying to find treatments and cures for.

dear god, I am a SUCKER for beagles... if only I were in the right place, both financially and location wise, to adopt a dog, it'd be one of these adorable pooches.

Sparkler's our girl!! We brought her home on Friday! She is sweet and wonderful. We are so happy to have been chosen to give her a forever home. She will never suffer another day for the rest of her life... =]
