The sequence at the start of this video is subLOGIC's Flight Simulator II running on my Apple IIgs (at "Normal" speed, 1.02MHz).

The second sequence is the current evolution of this simulator, Microsoft's Flight Simulator II running on my somewhat meager PC: P4 3.2GHz, GeForce 6600 GT, 1GB RAM.

We've come a long way.

Sorry about veering off the runway. Hadn't properly setup rudder on my Logitech USB pad yet... :-\

  • Music of Comodore 64

  • umm... how can you show the old version crashing and not the new one?

  • 1:11 nice takeoff

  • @C130RAAF and still FS2 (still from SubLOGIC) came out for the Apple II back in 1983 ( a year before Mac).

  • @C130RAAF wrong, FS1 came out on the Apple II first back in jan 1980 which was from SubLOGIC (a few years away from the Mac). then followed a port to the TRS-80 in march of 1980

Microsoft obtained the license to port it to the PC

Microsoft flight sim 1.0 came out in 1982 for the IBM compatible PC (still a few years away from the Mac)

    The first Mac 1984
