  • Made me cry, remembering when I first loved...

  • Its beautiful, I agree!

  • you did an awesome job. when you said "still as the hour glass", I could visualize that very moment. Other places captured great word painting images as well. Beautiful lyric voice.

  • Holy bujesus, I might have to sing this for solo ensamble next year...

  • so beautiful. Just a perfect interpretation of this piece. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Your interpretation brings the poem utterly to life... absolutely in harmony with it in tone and meaning. Beautiful!

  • At 1:05 its "for deathless dow'r"

    Not "for our deathless dow'r"

  • I love this. Ian Bostridge has to be my favorite tenor of all time. He is so delicate about the text when he sings. But I think you made a mistake in the lyric. I believe the words are close companioned INarticulate hour. That's the only thing that bothered me. Great job though.

  • Very sensitive version.

I already mentioned elsewhere that this is original music COMPOSED by a composer,in this case Vaughan-Williams,not "arranged,"altho that can be the case with a traditional or folk tune,(V-W, Grainger & Britten being notable examples).

I also said that, as the music loses its introduction, its tempo, its color, shape, texture, all its harmony &its postlude without that essential partner: the pianist,he should ALWAYS be credited; imagine this without him! He is excellent.

  • This is a beautiful rendition. I was singing this to my true love whilst lying in a field of hay only last week and have never heard it sung by a man or sung so well. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting it.

  • I'm actually going to be singing this, because the person who does my voice lessons thinks it'd be amazing for me to do it, and i already love this song, so... yay! =D

  • Got into the Dublin Conservatory of Music singing this and Die Forelle at my audition. Hopefully when Im finished my four year degree I'll be closer to my dream of singing in Covent Garden.
