  • I don't think anyone ridiculed the invention of rafts.

  • That was an amazing rover.

But, was she the one that died?

    or was that Spirit?

  • Phoenix died earlier this month.

  • This'nt isnt a hollywood movie mate. If you want "action" go hire a movie.

Reality involves HARD WORK. There is absolutely nothing "pathetic" about what these people have achieved.

  • This, in my opinion, is well spent money! Hope one day the money the world spend for military goes to the searching of knowledge or to improve the human condition!

  • @zowmaster Email, jk... it took some time though.. it is just a datastream that is send from the Orbiter of Mars then send to earth and encoded from data to pictures.. just like your browser does.

  • How did the pictures come back so fast?

  • MACS were used to make Avatar!

Well, PCs were used by NASA...who lands things on fucking Mars.

  • This is what passion and hard work looks like!

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 well then they shouldve said a new area of Mars, not a new world! anyway the other rover has taken 5 years to travel 7 km and sent 10 million pics of the same old rocks and tyre tracks ( wich dont show up on google Mars) and hasnt really justified its huge price tag. theyre an absolute waste of time and money, i wouldve thought in 2011 we would be sending something decent to explore the planet not souped RC cars that get bogged and cant climb mountains etc!! my 2 cents lol

  • @bjm351 Well the place Opportunity landed was territory never seen with human eyes. The same can be said for any other spacecraft that lands on Mars. There are so many geological characteristics of Mars, one space landing can't count for the entire planet. When Curiosity successfully lands (fingers cross) the area it's exploring will be different from what Spirit and Opportunity have seen and once again, will be a first for humans to explore.

  • so if this is meant to be the `opportunity` rover then how come you hear them say our first look at another world.........i think theyre forgetting they sent `Spirit`

  • If I was in the radio I'd say "WE TOUCHED MARS DAMMIT!! :D"

  • I wish i can be one of these people with the BEST JOB in the world

  • LOLOL!! I love Wayne Lee and that flag t-shirt. He made sure he was seen in a history book!! :)

    Can't wait for Curiosity!!!

By the way I wonder if Arnold is going to give that broom to his maid. You know, as a gift .......
