Ok..There is an reason that Sonic was "as slow" as everyone else..
You have to find the original footage of this event..then if you stop at certain frames, you can see Sonic posing infront of the camera, in the next one you can see him eating an chilli dog, then you can actually find him in the crowd with some popcorn, then he is sleeping infront of the goal for a few frames, runs back to everyone else just before the race was done and had a one frame fight with Shadow The Hedgehog!!

trueth be told sonic actually won the races, 3 times over... then went to get a drink and then back to pretend to "race" so everyone feels like they have a chance, all the while sonic "barely" holds 1st so no one notices, he's nice like that!
