I wouldn't call it a paradignm shift but it's a step in the right direction, especially since it's made in the US. Finally they have woken up.

The only theory I have is that maybe they would worry about the more "style-driven" buyers would see it as too much of a radical change to get rid of the grille.

Dude, he actually says that they don't need a front grille because the air intakes are on the side. That thing isn't functional.
