This was sung at NHSMUN 2008 in the Legal Committee by [Delegate Unknown, Venezuela?]. We had about half an hour left in our last committee session, and this came about. Sung to the tune of Pirates of Penzance Modren Major General.
At the beginning is our committee chair asking us to only have a few recording. HA. Yeah right. We all wanted a piece of this song.
LYRICS:
I am the very model of a Model UN Delegate,
I vote 'no' on resolutions that I sponsored for the hell of it,
I bring my laptop to committee even though I don't have wireless, (The New York Hilton did not provide free wireless internet. nobody likes that.)
I bought a car in Mozambique so I could say it... tire-less [pshhh],
My chairs have given up on getting me to keep decorum,
But when I step up to the mic I do my best to floor 'em,
[But when I step up to the mic I do my best to floor 'em],
I question every working paper, question, point, or water break,
I tell DPRK and Cuba both to go jump in a lake,
I'm out of order, out of time, and really, really out of luck,
They asked me for my change but I really couldn't give a... [audience curse] buck,
My sponsor asks me if I'm doing every bit of work I can,
I tell him yes, but really I pretend I'm from Berzerkistan,
[I tell him yes, but really I pretend I'm from Berzerkistan],
I don't represent my country, in fact I work with the USA,
Even though they tried to overthrow my country in a coup... S... A,
I try as hard as possible, but still I remain celibate,I am the very model of a Model UN Delegate.
FOR THE RECORD:
I, the delegate from Armenia, made the official motion to "hear the song again in the interests of recording it, and placing it on YouTube."
