Mixed feelings on this one. Definitely a pig out adventure by some Westerners. Of course, we had fun and were in the moment, but it's tough when knowing there is a serious world food shortage on the go.
Reminds me of the shock I had coming back from Ayacucho to Lima, in Peru. My friends brought me to this Jockey Plaza shopping centre, very proud of showing the "real developed" Peru, not those old fashioned markets where I bargained my stuff in quechua with old toothless ladies. Finally back in the real world: buy a shirt with 10 easy payments of 6 soles (each week), shiny boutiques, neon lights... That was my worst cultural shock!
