Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Repealing 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Today, the House is considering H.R. 2965, Repealing 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' sponsored by Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA). This discriminatory and harmful policy has weakened America's security by depriving our nation of the service of thousands of gay and lesbian troops who have served their country honorably -- and forcing even larger numbers of troops to lie about who they are. The House passed this repeal, as an amendment to the DOD bill, in May 2010 by a vote of 234 to 194, and it is long overdue for the Senate to pass it as well.

iam a straight female and i still dont get what the problem that certain people still have with gay/lesbian/bi/trans people...get with the program people its 2011...iam a female and heterosexual and believe that all are equal, all have the right too mariage, happyness and living in security and not in fear of being discriminated based on their sexual orientation. @missploofploof Besides, next month in Texas and in support of legislation introduced into the legislature requiring all future presidential candidates to establish eligibility prior to getting on the ballot. Oops, I think Obama wil not make the ballot in Texas. Once this happens the usurper will be outed like a gay service member! Question, if his is found to be ineligible do you not realise that ever bill he signed will become null and void?
