  • @uwedani Haha! I know. I'm Iranian. But, I think what the show was trying to say, but didn't emphasize properly, is that women wearing thin veils, showing some hair, driving, being strong-willed (etc.) happens IN SPITE of the Islamic Republic. When the gov. took over, they even tried to make driving for women illegal, but people fought so hard against it that they backed off. Most city women didn't wear veils at all, pre-1979. My mom said girls were made fun of as backward if they did.

  • Actually, she said "If they tell us to wear black, we'll wear white."

  • @fatima130784 Because the WORST that happens to Iranian women is having to sit at the back of the bus! HAH! You're not even Iranian. Arabs, Pakistanis, and Afghans might be happy with inequality, but many Iranian women have shown that they're not mental slaves and they hate those who oppress them. Don't compare Iranians to the rest of the backward Middle-East. How many Iranian women in the West wear the hijab or sit at the back of the car while their son sits in front? We are not like you.

  • @Lztexan Compared to Iran's neighbours, Iranian urbanites are relatively secular. We have our religious nuts, and we have uneducated rural peoples, but it's not unusual to meet Iranians who aren't very religious (many as religious as modern Christians) or even atheists. For instance, my entire family is atheist, and many of my extended relatives are atheist or agnostic. Other relatives are secular and are about as religious as moderate Christians. Most Iranians don't wear hijab outside Iran.

  • WOW Iranian women are BEAUTIFUL!!
