Jackie Decker & Mystic's Freestyle Level 3+ Parelli Audition riding bareback & bridle-less. Mystic Paso Fino Ranch, White City, Oregon. www.mystic-ranch.com. April 28, 2009.
Jackie-
Thank you very much for your Freestyle audition. The assessment team has viewed your audition and it was a pleasure. We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your horsemanship journey.

Great impulsion, transitions and sideways!!! Just start to get more particular with your timing of your release. It is very hard to tell at times if you are asking for an indirect or a direct. Make sure you are looking for your horse to pivot! Also, make sure you stay on a pattern until you get a change. :-)

Let me be the first to congratulate you on receiving a Level 3+ on your Freestyle Savvy! Please expect at least 4-8 weeks before receiving your certificate and string!!! Congratulations on being our newest level 3 Grad!!!

Your official score sheet is attached!!!

Thanks again for your dedication to your horse and to the Parelli program. We look forward to viewing your future success. Have fun and keep it natural!

  • Your auditions are are real inspiration. Loved the relationship you have with your horse.

  • @matilda19 Thanks Matilda. Glad that we can help inspire you on your own journey. I love the look on Mystic's face during this video. Thinking back, the additional advice I would give is slow down, ask softer, wait longer, accept less, reward more often, cherish the try and the offer, whether it is what you thought of or not. Partners appreciate each other's ideas. For years I was too demanding. That creates tension and kills try. Looking forward to seeing you with your horse.

  • I've just started level 1 with my off the track TB...This is very inspiring! great job.

  • @PeaceOfSanFrancisco Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed watching me with my Mystic son. If your off the track TB is impulsive learning stick to me on the ground, first on line and then at liberty, is going to be the key to getting downward transitions without pulling on reins. Enjoy your journey.

  • Received by email: I'm in England so a little far away to visit, but I just think its amazing the work you do with the horses

  • Received by email: A friend of mine (who actually taught me natural horsemanship) passed along the youtube video of you and Mystic doing your level 3 free style test. I just had to email you!

Mystic reminds me so much of my gelding! Such similar faces! He's out of Coquetta la Estrella x Contrapunto Segundo, gray, and other than Mystic having a thicker mane and tail, they are very similar! Even the expressions, and movements! I just loved watching you two!

  • @klwycoff123 Thanks for the lovely comment. Glad you enjoyed watching me play with my equine kids.

  • When you sit on the therapy ball, if you lose your balance, the ball will roll and "buck" you off. To maintain your balance on the ball, you have to activate your core muscles, pulling in your belly button and make micro adjustments to stay balanced. You do the same thing on the horse when riding bareback without stirrups. Your lower spine is a spring that adjusts for the horse's movement - if you are balanced. Sitting and bouncing on the ball helps you learn to do that - away from the horse.
