    The wings were actually added by Madison between 1808 and 1812 (during his first term as president). The house would stay in this basic form (with some major changes to the portico and wing roofs) until William duPont dramatically expands and renovates the mansion in circa 1901.

    Take care and remember to come for the grand opening on September 17th, 2008.
