The roofs of Canadian homes are made to withstand an enormous amount of weight, however accumulations of snow above three feet can exert enough pressure to cause structural damage. We have one small section of roof that faces north and receives little sunlight. During times of heavy snow falls we either have to go to the expense of calling in a service to remove the snow or do it ourselves using our snow rake. Since many people have never heard of a snow rake, her is what one looks like.
