y'all stop.. i am a vet and its fine to stroke it while it eats.. there not like dogs and try to be dominate .. its making that noise cuse its a growl and meow at the same time... the other cats were around ..Okay

@DogCatTV Why, yes, yes I do. It's a part of graduating HIGH SCHOOL, nevertheless college of any kind. When consulting with other vets about illnesses and ailments in animals, proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar are critical. As well with writing reports on an animals health, to share with vet assistants, other vets, and even owners or caretakers of any animal.

Everybody's given me a different answer when asking about the reasons behind this behavior for cats. Do they growl like that to signify of wanting to be left to eat in peace? Or is it a vocal sign of the cat protecting its food?

you dont have to touch it for it to make that noise. if your in its face with the camera or just very very close to it while its trying to eat its going to make that noise cause your bothering it lol wait till it gets a little older and decides to take a nice bite out of your hand lol make a video of the cat eating while your a good 5 feet away and it wont make that noise

LOL, it does do it when im 5 feet away, its a greedy kitten, it wasnt cause i was stroaking it or the camera, it was cause i have another 2 cats, and it was jealous cause they were geting closer, and no it wont bite my hand cause we dont have that kitten anymore, only gingey we got to keep.
