Well he had his thoughts of coming to politics with the opposition and it wasn't a secret to anybody. If u were up to date, journalists questioned him abt his next steps before the retirement and he always said "I can't talk abt politics while wearing an uniform". Come on man, don't act like a baby when we all knew that before hand. Gov knew it too. It wasn't a big deal then and now it is a big deal. Haha..U get the picture now. That's how our law system works. Stray dogs are abusing it.

Hope u wouldn't like it if police comes and arrests u for without a reason and then keep u in their custody for weeks. Then telling you to prove urself and come out if u r clean. In this case, SF wasn't even told the offences he's committed that are subjected to his arrest. That is a clear violation of FR under Sections 11,13(1) and 13 (2), Chapter 111 of the constitution. If no one is above the law, arrest Karuna for his past terrorist activities which is more dangerous than meetings.

Well I have facts to defend him. So meeting two opposition leaders privately cannot be considered as treason. U shd know that too. Defence website is maintained by the Gov and it's not giving independent facts like ITN. He will prove himself out of these accusations. But that's not the law. U can't arrest ppl for political reasons and keep them in custody and then say prove urself and come out.

Oh yeah MR must have worked so hard to get SL on to 97th place in corruption index in 4 years.

U r missing the facts. Let's put them together to give u a clear picture. These alleged accusations of treason took place before 14/11/2009 (quote) and Gov was well aware of his next step of coming to politics. They waited roughly 3 months to arrest him. According to the law, u can always arrest a serving officer if he's committed offences. By not doing so clearly shows signs of political vengeance (Mahanayekas quoted the same). What mistake did he do as an experience officer?Going against MR

I understand that u'r trying to defend S.F what ever I say, BUT the allegations are strong ageinst S.F "Mangala & the UNP have said that they have met S.F in SECRET before S.F retired" that you know?! And the law Plese read this article "No one is above the law" carefully in "defence. lk".

Every thing depends on disproving the allegations agenst S.F, let us hope that he can do it !!

Try to see the BIGGER picture before you talk about this S.F topic & last but not least get the correct FACKTS !!

So clearly the arrest is not a political vengeance. Talk about law, this is the law. I'm sorry but, S.F is an experienced person, how can he do such a mistake ?

It is past and so as for SF. He wasn't arrested before he retired even these alleged accusation took part when he was the CDS. Since this Gov is not taking actions against these ex LTTE members who have a proven history of terrorist activities witnessed by the whole nation, why they treat differently to SF and his actions? That's the logic. Law is law. Then you know what MR has done in the past. U decide too.

Let's say Ranil is a bastard if it makes u happy. But the problem is the abduction of SF not what Ranil did in the past. There's 40% in this country who backed up SF, a man who came to politics in 30 days. That's a big win against a man who has 30 years of experience plus the Gov power to manipulate anything such as rigging an election. SF did nothing wrong against our country n he will not do anything like that. Don't take my word. Chief monks said it. They have more experience than u n me

U agreed that law is law and it's not above anyone. So be it. Arrest Karuna n Pilliyan first for actually putting our country under terror, killing our ppl and working against the Gov. How come they become ministers without a single vote from public and walk with MR proudly. What law is that? Sorry to throw ur own comment back to u. Hope that helps to see my point.
