The real problem (for the rest of us) is always a very small group of sociopaths that manouver themselves into positions of power behind a government and eventually become the ruling oligarchy of a nation, pulling the strings for their own benefit, be it in Britain, USA, Russia, Spain or wherever.

Indeed it is a problem when the country being exploited wakes up and sees it's resources being stolen.
A bit like Iran did when it wanted to nationalise it's own oil reserves in 1953 under Mohammed Mossadeq, a democratically elected president.
