Pleasantly surprised. Was surprised with tickets to this AND was basically blown away. Great idea to present it from the beginning to now....

@bodiloto, bueno, yo pienso que el mejor fue MDM, por supuesto, y despues Vickers y Ramon Vilnai.....pero en los ultimos 30 años no lo hacia mal PD, por eso el Met lo escogió en esta ocasion para el homenaje. Felicidades maestro por tu 71 aniversario!

Dal vivo Domingo non aveva la voce di Otello.
Basta 'sentire' il suo 'Esultate',voce completamente fuori ruolo.
Dal vivo era così.

Almost 70 years old, and Domingo still kicks ass. :)

You're kidding, right? Wow. I thought he would never do Othello again due to his advancing age. He probably won't do it anymore after this because he is adjusting his repertoire to accomodate his aging voice. (He can still sing very well, but he understands that it's time for him to make some modifications.) This was a wise decision on his part.

he was the best of the whole gala! I was in the theatre and to compare this 68 y/o giant with the others was great to see, listen and understand why Domingo is in another level of artristy, a higher level, vocally and dramatically. Really an outstanding performance!!!

Amazing...none of the younger one's comes even close to his stage-presence and gorgeous voice! That's a singing MAN...and not a male singer with a boyish little voice as many others have I won't mention any name, but there are too many of them around!
