This is a test of using high power LEDs to supplement the lighting of a biocube-14 aquarium. As a first test, I'm using 2 Cree XR-E royal blue LEDs.

  • Where do you find the Hydro flow attachment ... I would like to get one for my Bio cube 14.

  • @TheMack76 You can get it online (Marine Depot for example - 10 bucks) or at a local fish store. Check your spelling if you do an internet search. It's spelled Hydor FLO

  • just a question what the hells that big ass swirling thing in the back (its stumping me come on someone help) ?

  • @joinapak It's a Hydor Flo, which is an attachment that goes onto the return line. It spins to change up the flow.

  • I have a 10 gallon reef and my wife and I would love to try and make our own LED hood for it. Where can I buy the lights?

  • Yes, you can buy the LEDs separate, but then you'll need a driver and a power supply. I bought them at LEDsupply (.com). I've got a post at nano-reef (.com) that details how I built my light array. My user name is "Waterproof". For a 10-gallon, you could spend ~$200-$300, but there are long-term cost savings. LEDs last a really long time. You won't need to replace bulbs. The energy costs are lower. You can get MH-quality light without the heat. Etc. Etc.
