I tried reading Daniel Dennett's book "Darwin's Dangerous Idea," but I had to give up after about 100 pages. I settle for watching his videos... they're a lot easier to understand.

The difference in general could be said. Do you view life as something filled with opportunities or something filled with choirs. If the latter, then your will is restrained, if the former, your will is free.

I agree determinism isn't in any way related to free will. There just isn't any desired free will based on indeterminism anyway. To me, free will isn't however, only that you do what you choose to do. It is about taking risks. If you hate your job and wish for a better life, you feel trapped. Free will is what those in that situation have when they not only wish, but try to resolve their undesired situation, but it takes bravery... and free will, which not everyone has.
