The Moody Blues are a 'generational thing' indeed; MULTIgenerational, just as great music should be!
Now-65-year-old writer of the song, Justin Hayward: young people who are responding now to this song "are the same age we were when we wrote the songs."

Well said! Great music will indeed stand the test of time.

this is a great song

love this song
-
I am less concerned with what the artist meant in the song, than I am with what the song means to me on a deeply personal level.

@hazelmay64 Um...no need to be rude. You know how many people are wrong about these lyrics as well as other lyrics to other songs. You might be right, then again, the 300 other people with different ideas might be also. Unless you are a member of The Moody Blues, you're no expert either so keep your rudeness to yourself. Funny, I don't see any other rude posts, just yours. Guess there's always a bad apple in the bunch.

@metalplr650 Um... no. That sentence makes no sense whatsoever. It is another day's useless energy is spent
-
I would make it, except I don't know how many people would watch it. If I get over ten 'I'll watch it's to this I will make it.
-
In all due respect , It is "another day useless in a years spent." Not "energy spent" Still haunting after 35 years!
