A U.S. medical advisory group has recommended providing women free birth control and other preventive health services under the nation's healthcare overhaul.
In a statement, Dr. Vanessa Cullins, the vice president for medical affairs at Planned Parenthood believes, "Covering birth control without co-pays is one of the most important steps we can take to prevent unintended pregnancy and keep women and children healthy."
However, specialists, like doctor Charlie Han of Veins Florida, explain why the use of some newer birth control pills, may also contribute to slightly higher cases of blood clots in women.
