Luton has a population of 30,000 Muslims. Just 20 of those Muslims turned out to support a protest by the extremist group Islam4UK against a homecoming parade of soldiers of The Royal Anglian Regiment on 10 March 2009. In other words, Islam4UK lunatics represented the views of less than 0.07% of Muslims*... JUST IN LUTON.
EDL pretend no-one except themselves opposes extremist Islam, but the Islam4UK protestors were arrested, 5 were successfully prosecuted, Islam4UK are banned by Luton Mosque, and now also banned outright under the Terrorism Act. Football supporter Kier McElroy was jailed for a racist attack on Sikh councillor Lakhbir Singh during the March 2009 protest - Lakhbir Singh isn't even Muslim, let alone extremist, and he'd turned out to SUPPORT the British troops...

The people who founded the EDL staged a "March for England" counter-protest against Islam4UK on 24 May 2009. Many March for England protestors are decent people who oppose extremism, some even paraded placards saying "NF go to Hell". However some protestors used the march as cover to attack police and Asians and to smash windows of Asian shops - James Butler, Tony Griffiths, Simon Hattle and Richard Myers were jailed for these attacks. EDL founder Paul Ray (aka "Spiritofstgeorge") posted a You Tube video confirming these thugs are EDL members and asking people to support these violent racists...

Since then EDL founders have been found to have direct links to the NF and BNP and dozens of EDL protestors have been photographed disrespecting British war dead with Nazi salutes.
*Thanks to SecularAstronomer for pointing out I put the decimal point in the wrong place in the video (as 20 divided by 30,000 = 0.0007, rounded-up, but not "0.0007%") but the common-sense conclusion remains the same either way - that extremists do not represent the Muslims of Luton.
