hmmm not true, tho it did take until amy winehouse for a good UK based blues/soul voice to shine thru. a shame that once we waited since carmel for a great classic uk soul voice, that wen we did get amy, she popped her clogs just as the world fully accepted she was the real thing.. so what ever happened to carmel?

I adored Carmel from the begginning (I was very young). I still have most of her vinyl albums and some 12'', including Mercy. When later on, I bought the cd compilation, I was shocked to see that Mercy wasn't even on it!
But what saddens me most is that such an amazing and unique talent doesn't perform anymore! We all know how underrated she was...she should of made it huge, and STILL be huge! It's her talentless look alike who got that chance: Mad Donna.
Btw, much better than Adele & others!

I bought "The Falling" when it came out. Huge fave among my friends at the time. But, this.. this song is exceptional and this live version is a knock-out! Some current artists should be aquainted with this amazingly talented voice. Text Book Perfection!
