@foldedpaperboats Hi, yes, my recollections were a little off on this.
-
@gcmc2 - the #34 most definatly was the Channel 9 car, as stated by SIERRACOS
The Bob Stevens-prepared Camaro's were owned by Ron Dickson originally.
In 1983 Dickson sold one to Bob Stevens and one to Mike Burgmann. Burgmann wrote his off at the Oran Park ATCC, so bought the other off Stevens. This car was then sold to Bryan Thompson in 1984, and he drove the car at Bathurst.

a triumph lol

Its true the camaro that hits walkinshaw is kevin bartletts channel 9 car. It was rented out for the race.

The Camaro was not actually the Channel 9 car. There were two prepared for bathurst and both done by Bob Stevens. In fact the second car he bought himself in the US. It was a road car he bought - drove it to the shipping port, shipped it over and 5 weeks after the day he bought it it was sitting on the start grid at bathurst. Paul Newman was scheduled to drive it at bathurt incidentally.

Thats me waving the flag at 3:45 thankfully the gate was built strong or the car would have cleaned us flaggies up.
