Alright, its almost the end of July and today was supposed to be South Africa's turn at the Celebration of Lights (or whatever it is they call it now, its hard to keep up). People headed over to the beach excited for another night of fireworks when ALL OF A SUDDEN it starts raining. Soon, the raindrops get fatter and heavier and out of nowhere, there's thunder and lightning ! So much for fireworks.. BUT Vancouverites got to enjoy an au naturel light show. It was super sunny and humid just yesterday. Yup, thats Vancouver for you.
All of these pictures were taken by me while I had about half of my body hanging out of the window, clinging onto my DLSR and continuously clicking the shutter button for a good hour. I know its not impossible to catch lightning, but Im no professional photographer and its sooo tricky to catch something that only flashes briefly every so often. At first I was just trying to take a picture when I saw a lightning bolt. I soon realized my mind just wasnt as fast as the lightning so I began clicking super fast (or as fast as my camera would let me) and came out with ONE good shot of the lightning and a series of photos of the cars driving by. I've been meaning to make another stop motion for a while now and after looking through all of my pictures (most of which had NO lightning :( ) I realized that THIS would make a pretty cool stop motion and I thought that this verse of this song would go well with the video.
Enjoy the show !

Haha, well, I was only trying to get a good shot of the lightning and I found I had a better chance of getting it when I just continuously took pictures. I only got a couple pictures of the actual lightning but I found myself with a cool looking time lapse.
