  • Thanks for this. My childhood friend and I used to sing this. It's a good memory.

  • The Smothers Brothers sang a versionof this song at many of their concerts when they were on tour, years ago.

  • It's really not that hard, it's a folk- style song celebrating the lifestyle/ subculture of a boatman.

(You got that 'older' boatman's flair to it! ;-)) Saw you on the New Year's Eve special with Alan Gilbert (actually a relative by marriage of mine!) and you performance was stunning. The interview you did was incredible too, great insight into performance, singing, and life in general.
