[English Translation of the Lyrics]

HEY Mr. DJ

[1]
So, with the jewels inlaid into this sky
--- someday, new constellations will be made by only you & me ...

I cannot stop my imagination.
Kiss! Heart-mark.
Spreading wings, we head for the future,
--- to the wonderland.

[2]
Hey Mr. DJ, in this shining night,
--- please connect us forever.
Hey Mr. DJ, I want to know
--- all about him.
Hey Mr. DJ, I want to tell him
--- this feeling that has no name.
Hey Mr. DJ, please deliver, Yo!,
--- the sign of my throbbing.

[3]
So, Altair* meets Vega*, passing over the Milky Way.
Even the universe seems to be filled with romances.

To the place farther than that I can imagine.
Kiss! Heart-mark.
Toward the tomorrow that begins from a dream,
--- to the wonderland.

[4]
Hey Mr. DJ, through the fantastic night
--- this melody is resounding.
Hey Mr. DJ, I want to touch
--- all of his dreams.
Hey Mr. DJ, I want to embrace
--- this love that has no correct answer.
Hey Mr. DJ, please deliver, Yo!,
--- the sign of my throbbing.

(repeat [2])

[*Note on "Altair" and "Vega"]
Both "Altair" and "Vega" are names of stars. Altair is the brightest star in the constellation Aquila and Vega is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra. The two stars have the positions in opposite sides of the Milky Way. This line of the lyrics ("So, Altair meets Vega, passing over the Milky Way") means the legend of the Star Festival (Tanabata) which had been celebrated at night of July 7 of the old calendar used in Japan before 1873. (There is the time gap of approximately one month between the old calendar and new calendar. So, July 7 in the old calendar usually corresponds to a day in August in modern calendar. Nowadays, for the most part, it is celebrated according to new calendar.) The Star Festival and its legend were brought to Japan from China. The legend is as follows (I use the explanation by Wikipedia with several modifications).

[The Legend of Star Festival (Tanabata)]
Orihime (Weaving Princess in Heaven, The star "Vega") is a daughter of the Heaven's God. She wove beautiful clothes by the bank of the Milky Way ("Amanogawa" in Japanese. It means "River in Heaven"). Heaven's God arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi (Cow Herder in Heaven, The star "Altair") who lived and worked on the other side of the Amanogawa River (Milky Way). When the two met, they fell instantly in love with each other and were shortly married. However, once married, being absorbed in their love, Orihime no longer would weave cloth for Heaven's God and Hikoboshi allowed his cows to stray all over Heaven. In anger, Heaven's God separated the two lovers across the Amanogawa River and forbade them to meet. Orihime became despondent at the loss of her husband and asked her father to let them meet again. Heaven's God was moved by his daughter's tears and allowed the two to meet on the 7th day of the 7th month (July) if Orihime worked hard and finished her weaving. But if it rains on that day, they cannot go across the river because of the rise of water and the two lovers must wait till next year.

This song is contained in the album "Super Euro Party" (March 2006).

The CD (album "Super Euro Party") containing this song is available in Japan even now. If you live in the other country, you can buy it at REASONABLE price through internet from "YesAsia". Search it. You can buy it also from Amazon, but the prices of imported CDs at Amazon are too high.

  • @lensmaker1 LOL!

Really though I think Para Para is good for lazy people who want to be sort of active.

  • Para Para is a style of dance popular in Japan a while ago. Unfortunately this dance craze led to many people getting severely injured," Para para plegics".

  • This might be a stupd question but I'm gonna ask it anyways:Whats "Para para"?

  • I love HINOI team!

  • everytime i hear this song i wanna do the para para rountine for "my sweet banana" from para para paradise
