This Southern Poverty Law Center video was created to help law enforcement agencies better prepare for encounters with "sovereign citizens." In the case of two West Memphis, Ark., police officers, Brandon Paudert and Bill Evans, a routine traffic stop of father-and-son sovereign citizen duo Jerry and Joe Kane in May proved fatal when son Joe, 16, leaped from the car firing an AK-47, cutting down both officers. The Kanes died in a shootout with police an hour later in a Wal-Mart parking lot after wounding two more officers. SPLC estimates that as many as 300,000 people may consider themselves sovereign citizens — and the number is growing.

  • You cannot be both a sovereign and a citizen.

  • What happened is sad. However what they did they would have done if they were sovereign or not. Sovereignty has nothing to do with it.

  • The State can not take a right convert it to a privileged and license it. If you don't know the laws or didn't read the codes for "vehicle" registration before you applied for a DL, then you are surely a slave. The laws are for CITIZENS, and citizens need a law to govern them ! A non resident is not a citizen. A non resident does not accept benefits. You do not HAVE to have a "residence". Look into the legal meaning of "residence and domicile".

    study to show thyself approved.

  • To claim yourself as a sovereign citizen, is like calling yourself a black white, or a man woman, or a positive negative.. It is just a misnomer aka double mind.

    It is an oxymoron.

A sovereign does not need to fight, nor complain, nor put their burden on another. A sovereign will "take" a burden, "resolve" a complaint, and "settle" as-king.

These guys were not resolving anything, arguing and fighting. Nothing sovereign about that. Bond V United States ruled that the people are sovereign.

  • @AnotherGlenn yea that's an oxymoron..

  • @AnotherGlenn yea that's an oxymoron..

  • ... The truth is that this video could have been made to actually educate police officers about the real laws instead of just proliferating more fear so that they can meet sovereign citizens in a place of mutual respect, which is the cornerstone of sovereign individual's beliefs. ..

  • This is ridiculous propaganda! Sovereign Individuals live under a personal moral code build on self- reliability. They have removed themselves from suckling on the government's teet and the control of the corrupt social security system. These two hillbilly yahoos that shot these cops are just plain old lunatics, which has NOTHING to do with sovereignty...

  • @MaupoNaio I believe this particular piece of video describing sovereigns is a propaganda piece. I know that police are civil servants, I'm no stranger to police. But they do have power, citizens empower them. They are not going to disappear, slowly they are militarizing, and encroaching on the average citizen with more and more arrogance and they will learn that the people will not tolerate it. I know my rights, and will enforce them against any who seek to take them.

  • @MaupoNaio

    SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS! Prisoner.

Nothing is "plain and simple" , being a police officer doesn't warrant getting a free ticket to 'stardom', nor does it give them Imaginary "powers".

This is pure propaganda favoring the gang called "police" . Did you know they're Civil Servants? What part of practicing a 'routine check points' and invading someones privacy over 'routine' Civil, or Serving and Aiding / Assisting you to a benefit in any way? They had 'routine check points' in Nazi Germany too.
