A simple DIY to replace the standing star hood emblem on the W203 Mercedes Benz. This is using the flat badge from the W204. It is a simple plug and play type install and is much better than any cheap stick on emblem from ebay and much cheaper than the $100 ones with mounting kits. This seriously took me a minute or two to do. Enjoy!

  • how much was the flat hood emblem at the dealership?

  • @mly888168 $24.61. Copy of the invoice shown at 18 seconds

  • is it plastic? and are you not worried about getting a ring around it from dirt and weather? how sturdy is the clip on? can anyone walk up to it and just take it off?

  • @MrHardlyWorking It is plastic but it is also the same OE emblem that is used on the W204 models. It holds perfectly well and I've had no issues with leaking, scratching, or with dirt and weather.

The clip is designed to clamp the hood's sheet metal between the face portion of the emblem and the mounting base. There's no way to remove it from the top without damaging the hood.

Again, its a factory MB emblem.

  • Great video : )

I'm hunting for a flat replacement emblem at the moment... can you share the name of the parts dealer where you bought yours?

  • @Mesaman0825 I purchased it directly from the dealership
