I moved from Toronto to Edmonton and I had a few things I wanted to ship. My store had used UPS before so I decided to ship through them. I had a few boxes and my most prised position, a 48' flat screen, near new. This decision was the worst I could of made.
The UPS clerk asked for me to find a box for the TV myself. I brought it specifically to them so they could wrap it as I didn't plan on moving and didn't keep the box. I thought they would be professional in packaging it. My friend found a few crapy boxes and the guy said they wouldn't do so we asked if we could ditch them in their cardboard compacter. The guy said he would do it.
I was charged $50 bucks for them packing it in a "custom box," I paid over $180 in shipping charges for the TV, and I opted to pay for insurance. What I wanted was insurance against damage but he wouldn't sell me any. I had to settle for buying insurance against loss only.
He used the $50 to purchase tape from the dollar store to wrap the TV. The "custom box" which should of been a sturdy box from off the shelf or ordered from the UPS supply store was instead a tapped up missmash of the boxes I had dumpster dived for!
My TV didn't arrive with the other parcels. i had to call for a week to get it to come. I was still hopeful it would arrive ok, even though my other boxes where very damaged and i had lost some items out of them. What did arrive was shocking. The box was so smashed that there was holes in it, there was no protection on any of the corners, and it was worse than if I had of shipped it without wrapping it! Every corner was damaged in some way and the screen was of course just dust. The frame was so badly bent that the steel was twisted. This package wasn't just dropped but obliterated. The stupid driver made a wise crack about hoping it was ok, and his face went ashen when I told him it was a TV.
I of course did the natural thing and called up UPS. They put me through a stupid complaint process which just sent me back to the store. The store of course didn't seam to care and offered a $75 voucher to ship with them - I wouldn't ship my garbage with them!
Now I've spent a month with their complaint department and I don't even get a call back and today I had to restart that complain process again because they couldn't get me to the lady I had previous dealt with or even knew how to reach her!
Don't ship anything with UPS, they will take your money and give you the worst service you can imagine. I've worked in retail all my life and I've seen poor service but this is just too much!

  • You're a dumb ass for not shipping a tv with insurance..

  • UPS is a piece of shit, I will never ever ship with UPS again. I just hope that those online shopping places can be specific about the carriers they use, because if they are using UPS, I will say forget about it, I would rather pay more in an actual store or just not buying. Because get package from UPS is a nightmare.

  • @MONSTERRALLY100 Are you fucking stupid? Read the description.

  • geeze, theyre acting like it open heart surgery

  • sorry 4 the tv, but ups didnt wrap it, the dude you got it from did

  • Unless Reagan is a giant their is no way that TV is 48" judging by his wing span id say it might be a 37". good try though.

  • Plug it in and see if it works.

  • @KarrChaos non si spediscono i pacchi senza un imballaggio sufficiente...........bye driver ups naples italy

  • either they must have stolen your box and beat the shit out of your television for no reason, OR, you didn't put in 1. Im likin the first idea, but probably wrong
