Good point. If I get a PC that powerful, I would use it as a gaming server. It's still powerful enough to run any game maxed out with server options turned on. Benchmarking is nice, but it's more for PC builders, no so much for PC gamers. PC builders usually have the cash to get high benchmarking PCs and parts, PC gamers want to get the best performance for their money. I've seen some videos where cheap gaming PCs perform just as well expensive benchmark PCs. The game PC just sucks at 3DMark.

funny.. everybody gets a skulltrail and all they do on here is play with the stupid (no offense intended) cinebench (which is an awesome benchmarking app)... the point im trying to make is...
What happened to running games and doing other things? why does it have to be cinebench all the time?
lol

I got some very nice CPUs to replace the E5420s and changed out the 4 Raptors for 4 Samsung F1 750GB drives on an Areca1210 controller, using a VelociRaptor for the OS right now and the F1s in a RAID5 2 TB array. The CPUs are running 100% load 24/7 at 4ghz Crunching for BOINC/WCG and the GFX cards are Folding for Stanford. It pulls 23K in 3DMark06, 16K in Vantage, 11.7 second Super Pi1M, 29,411 CineBenchR10. This rig will play any game on high settings and high resolution.

I have a running thread at OverClock and have not yet posted any results because I am still running Xeons...which don't deliver the top performance this board is capable of....
