  • I'm also a comic connoisseur. I really appreciate The CRAFT of making comicbooks more than following my favorite characters, like a fanboy. ALSO The Knaufs wrote one of the greatest Iron Man stories I've ever read with their extended Mandarin story 15-18, 21-28. I find your opinions highly questionable now.

  • Oh, well. I didn't care for any of that Iron Man stuff. Just an opinion, man.

  • Hmmm this character vs creator thing also equates to corporation vs creator....just look at the vitriol spewed on the Siegel family by fanboys on Newsarama after their blog led to the Siegels winning more copyright back from Time Warner.

I thought it was fucking unreal that people would side with a massive multinational corporation over creators and their familys just because of their favourite characters...what fucking babies

  • Agreed. Fanboys are, for the most part, an ignorant lot.

  • An example of a writer who is more recognized than his characters or publishers is Warren Ellis. He has done several characters and series on more than one publisher.

  • At first I'd buy the book only because of the character now I usually buy because of the creators. I used to buy almost everything Deadpool, but now I have realized that the Dan Way Deadpool book is the only good DP thing out right now.

  • what about nerdlocks. or comic nerds?

  • (in my mind)...lol

  • I follow writers. I feel that any character can be exciting and interesting given the correct creative team.

I don't buy much Marvel these days, mainly due to the fact that their "events" are stiffling their own titles.

DC is a little bit better in that regard, IMO. Still, they have their flaws too. I do pick up more DC than Marvel, and more "indie" than anything else.

  • If they gave him a bad review I'd call for a revolt of Comic Book Club

  • I find I look to DC for finite stories ala New Frontier/Joker, but I follow Marvel on an ongoing level

  • Wait Headpool is awesome...):-(
