@Neodreadlord I bet my life on you being wrong, there's even a couple of bars of "riders of the storm" at the end to clear it up for people like you.
It's about Jim Morrison, end of.
-
What if you're all right with saying its about Hendrix Morrison and himself????
-
voodoo magic is clearly a reference to hendrix
-
You've mistaken 'Jimmy' with Jeffrey.
-
Jimmy is a joint, think about it
-
@Neodreadlord Actually, James has already admitted the song is about Jimmy Hendrix..Soo....
-
All the lyrics indicate it's a tribute to Hendrix, but the last keyboards hint at Jim Morrison... confusing but I'm guessing Jimmy Hendrix. Cool song anyway!

@GameTheory07 If you listen to the end of the song it fades into the music from riders on the storm so I think it is about Jim Morrison but it could apply to Jimi Hendrix too. The lyrics fit for both :)

Outstandin, yeah, The Sun was right...

Song has to be about Jimi Hendrix. Let me stand next to your fire is a Hendrix song, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Voodo Magic? Hendrix had a song called Voodo Child.
You're all wrong!!
It's about himself.... Jimmy is before he got famous and James is after he got famous...he was probably known as Jimmy when he was a kid...think of the line
"We were chilling on the sofa"
and
"Do you seem real but I seem fake"
he is confused as to whether he's changed or not since he got famous! hence why the line "In a song that no one knows"

about Jim Morrison without a shadow of doubt , the little keyboard part in the end of the session would remind you of Riders of the storm, besides the use of keyboard and long keyboard solos instead of guitar solos was the trademark of Doors.
so definitely for Jim morrison, as James Blunt giving enough of a tribute to him in the end of the song by using Doors style to leave any doubt.
