Bumper, the bumper car, feels lonely because he can't play on the jungle gym with all the other 20-something-year-old man children. He just doesn't know how to have fun with his wheels. Until one day he sees Turnip, the pretty white truck, having a ton of fun frolicking around a parking lot. Bumper mimics Turnip's moves and he finally realizes how much fun a little bumper car can have. Together they befriend a couple of redneck scarecrows who really show him how to drive fast!

  • can the kart still be remote controlled while someone is in it? under the weight i mean?

  • @Nikman1123 Yes, it can be driven with someone in it. I have video of it somewhere - it was a great time.

The catch though, is that the steering response slows down a bit and if you hit something, like the curb, the output shaft strips out of the gear in the wiper motor.

If I did it again, I'd use a slightly different linkage - with a spring most likely - so that those shocks wouldn't be transmitted directly through to the servo. Slightly torquey-er motors also.

  • Do you have the plans for this? I've been trying to build one for years but i dont know how to steer it. It must take alot of voltage?

  • @01000001a I'm putting together a set of plans, but for a start, have a look at the article about it in PopSci: popsci.com/diy/article/2010-07/add-remote-control-any-project-you-build - vin
