In her debut novel, Katherine Howe tells a spellbinding, beautifully written story that moves between contemporary times and one of the most fascinating and disturbing periods in American history - the Salem witch trials.

  • The book was good in the first half, ran out of steam as it went along, after the romantic interest showed up, everything slowed down.

  • Don't look now, but someone just paid their bill at the Maui Hilton !!!!!

  • we hav to read this for summer reading...kill me

  • The book was awful as a an "adult" fictional novel. I had to put it down 1/2 way through. I found the writing condescending and immature. Not to mention the incosistancies & bad editing. Connie Goodwin has the sophistication of a 13 year old. She lets a male chauvinistic old man bully her around. Her mother is vague and unbelievable. The "love" interest/relationship isabsolutely pathetic. Really?? A 25 year old who is afraid to hold hands with a boy?? Perhaps Hollywood will spice it up.

  • Excellent book, well written and will pull you in. What more can be said? I have recommended it to friends.

  • I just bought the book on my amazon kindle so Im not real sure what the cover looks like, but the book itself was utterly fantastic!! I loved Liz's character!! I also looooved the whole good-heartedly sarcastic yet historical vibe the whole book brought on

  • just finished the book and I want to go read it again!!!!! i loved the story and the characters! I can totally relate to Connie! omg it was altogether great!!!!

  • I finished the book last night and I agree with DesigningWoman1975, I loved the cover. It was really good, and I reccommend it to anyone that loves a good story.

  • LOVED this book! It was a great tale that kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. So imaginative! By the way, it was the COVER that drew me in! Authors should never underestimate the draw of the cover design. Congrats to Katherine! I'll be looking for your next book with eager anticipation.
