Lotus only has 3.5 liter vs Z06 7.0 liter almost twice!! It has the smallest V8 among the big boys...but don't be mistaken. Their design is like two 4 cylinders welded together.

Lotus known to bust the 12 cylinder Gallardo

The comparison is not equal but Lotus is not a push over. It will give the gigantic corvette engine a good run.

Ferrari had a 3,0 litre V8 in the 80's and even a 2,0 litre V8 for the Italian market where all cars over 2 litres were taxed heavily. Check out the Ferrari 208 GTB/GTS from the early 80's.

Btw, at the time the 3,5 litre Lotus V8 was released, Ferrari had a 3,5 litre V8 in the F355 model, and Bugatti still made the 3,5 litre V12 in the EB110.

LOTUS designed the all aluminum V8 for the Corvette ZR1 in 1990. GM payed them, but Lotus designed it.

take a look at a stock 4 cylinder lotus -- 168 mph then slowed when fuzzbuster went off. ok,it does have a k&n filter, de-catted. look at "lotus fast and furious" on youtube

One of the sexiest cars on the planet! Now that I've sold my Corvette C5, also a very nice ride, I have got to get me a V8 Esprit one day. The thing with an Esprit is that it doesn't really matter if it gets older, it'll always be a classic.

B gallardos dont have v12 they have v10s...

@zzzzzsleeping I love the esprit, but it has it's limits. Stock for stock, both the Gallardo(118mph trap for the slowest model) and the c6 z06(traps in the mid 120s stock) will destroy an esprit in a straight line.
