  • Great video, Congratulation to all team.

The journey is amazing and give me and other people know how hard to climb that mountain.

    All the best from Indonesia

  • @irfannurfajri Thanks for that and glad that you enjoyed the show. Hope that you like the other vids and uploads I've posted. thebige2012.co.uk has plenty of info as well. Cheers - Tim

  • how long does it take to climb the mountain and to go back down if everything goes well?

  • @hunter2981 Hiya, it's a 6 to 9 week trip depending on when the weather windows open up and allow safe passage to the summit and back (although seeing as we're at 8,000m it's not really safe!). The actual summit push from Base Camp once acclimatised is a 5 to 8 day round trip. If everything goes well. Cheers - Tim

  • Congratulation.

Very great video presentation of a "hike" on everest :)

Can you tell us a little more about the preparation for the expedition. Is it cheaper if you organize climb to everest with your friends or by some agency?

I know that you must be an experienced climber for a climb without a guide. i just want to know how much money and time do i have to have for a climb of my life?

  • @Domenkas Hi there and thanks for the comment. There's limited ability to reply fully but I have posted a whole load of info on thebige2012.co.uk and hopefully that will give you plenty of answers. In a nutshell you're looking at between US$40,000 and US$85,000 to climb with a guide / company on the South side. The North has become more expensive recently, but is still cheaper than the South. However there are many pitfalls if you go North. Again, there's loads of ino on my website. Cheers - T

  • I am obsessed! and I live around K2

  • Also, its more like being herded up the mountain now... all you have to prepare and train for is the altitude... No one really "climbs" it anymore.

  • Its a shame the countries are charging so much for the license to climb!! What normal person has $40k to spend climbing a mountain? Did you see ole Green Boots?

  • All the best Tim.

  • @Domenkas Thanks for the comment. Hope that you enjoyed the show.

The easiest thing would be for you to have a look at ww.thebige2012.co.uk which provides you with plenty of information about what it costs and what sort of experience you should be look to have.

I'd definitely recommend having a degree of experience with hiking and mountaineering and plenty of crampon useage under your belt. It's a harsh environment to try and learn new skills.

The easiest way is to join a group. Cheers - Tim
