  • hey simon. do you save your trimings and scraps and re wedge it or re constitute it fomr try if needed?

  • why dont you use raku for drinking or anything practical? i've never done it my self but i've seen you/simon doing it...

  • I really enjoy your videos - by the way. You are a craftsman in the truest sense. Keep it up! :)

  • I'm not trying to be rude when I ask this - I'm more curious. What's with the head turning and bobbing? Is it a twitch? Is it a habit? Are you trying to avoid actually looking at one spot on the pot? Are you focusing your attention to visualizing what your fingers are doing to the pot in your mind? I'm a designer and sometimes when I'm sketching, I tend to squint my eyes and blur my vision so that I can only see shapes and values instead of details... Sorry if my curiosity is intrusive. :)

  • Cool idea teach! I think that's what Mr. Mud Master was talking about....sharing good ideas with everyone.

  • Sorry:

Probably Gleened Tool Caddy idea from old

CM mag or potter's Idea books they put out.

Think I saw in again in CT mag last yr.

OH Simon ran across copy of CM ( Summer 1983) with Br John on the cover today, made copies.

  • I make tool caddy's that slip over edge of splashpan. They are old laundry softener plastic bottles. Cut bottom off about 1" above where handle ends at the hip of bottle. Leave Lids on. Slice through the handle at shoulder. leaving abit of shoulder. Turn upsidedwn and it should slip over rim of splash pan. By leaving more or less shoulder, handle will act as a clamp. Fill cut end of hndl with styro foam to prevent tools falling through. Put foam in cap if to deep. "DebraRay"
  • Simon,

Do like the way you say the clay is thirsty!

Clay does have some what of a personality!

    HAHA

I catch myself all the time ( or my students do) describeing pots to students as "he or she" " She getting tired from to much water or He needs alittle push here & there."

Looking forward to another Raku firing

    Thanx Simon,

    "DebraRay"
