In this rough cut trailer, many interviews of internationally renowned artists and scholars were captured by filmmaker, Richard Winter during celebrations in Worcester, Birmingham and London for Sir Edward Elgars 150th birthday in 2007. He is currently producing the first major Elgar bio-pic in more than forty years entitled GIGANTIC WORX : The Dream of Elgar. With so much of Elgars music now being performed, so many appraisals and re-appraisals of his work and its biographical hinterland on offer, we no longer have an excuse to avoid engaging with this important but perplexing figure: over-familiar in some ways, in others barely known at all.
GIGANTIC WORX - The Dream of Elgar is an independent feature documentary film being produced by Shene Gate Pictures. It explores and reassesses the character and works of arguably Englands greatest composer, Sir Edward Elgar; an exposition of the man beyond Pomp & Circumstance! Who he was? ... What were the forces that inspired him? ... What were the circumstances and conditions that forged him? What were his dreams? Of those dreams which did he fulfill and which remained unfulfilled? This is the enigma of Sir Edward Elgar, Bart, OM, GVCO, Master of the Kings Musick.
